Due to the lack of snow this year there weren't many opportunities to hit urban around the city. Any time it snowed my friends and I would find some rails to hit. This is the first year I have hit anything in the city, so I started out a bit rocky, fell down some stairs a few times. After hitting the first rail and falling a few time, I started feeling comfortable and having so much fun!
All in all the season has been great, but life as girl trying to become a professional snowboarder is full of its fair share of difficult times and injuries. Right now Im recovering from a pretty bad bruised butt and heel. But life goes on, after about of week of chronic icing and heating the pain went away enough to start riding again. Also trying to keep enough money in the bank is a challenge for any traveling snowboarder. At least once a month my bank account dips into to the negatives, but some how it manages to even back out by the end of the month haha. And don't even get me started on trying to learn the in's and out's of the industry! Companies say they are going to help you, then don't follow through uhh. Life is madness, but I am so happy in the madness!
P.S. Park City
So this year I decied to move out to SLC, and things have been going pretty awesome out here. This year didn't go exactly how I planned, but when do things work out exactly how you want. This year for snow has been less than favorable, but has still been surprisingly productive. One of the Highlights of my year so far was getting to film with Erin Comstock, Madison Blackly, and Megan Ginter for Hana Beaman's P.S webisode series. This was the first time I've been involved with something like this so I was super stoked! The webisode received some awesome feed back and appeared on Transworld and Snowboarder Mag.
Since Utah hasn't been getting the amount of snow they normally get, I've been spending most of my time riding the park at Park City. Park City is one of the funniest places I have ever ridden. They put in a new high speed lift so you can take oober fast runs, and have had one of the funniest and most creative parks in the country. I have been filming as much as possible this year made one little edit so far, and am currently working on another one.
